@  snuggs28 : (29 August 2015 - 05:00 AM) It's late nevermind
@  Heimdall : (29 August 2015 - 01:43 AM) Well Spam, was 25 years ago today I was at the last performance of SRV. Time just keeps ona-rollin
@  LeoAmes : (28 August 2015 - 09:08 PM) I imagine those that want to be technically correct would just call it an airship. That's what all blimps without an internal structure, these new Goodyear aircraft that are semi-rigid like the Italians were once famous for, and rigid airships like those the Zeppelin company was famous for during the early 20th century are all classified as.
@  spamtastic : (28 August 2015 - 08:53 PM) You know you are getting old when it feels like 10 years ago was just yesterday.
@  rhamm : (28 August 2015 - 06:05 PM) Somehow I'm thinking they'll still call it the Goodyear blimp on tv instead of the Goodyear zepplin.
@  Heimdall : (28 August 2015 - 05:54 PM) rhamm, calling it a Zeppelin probably would upset the pc police.
@  Heimdall : (28 August 2015 - 11:53 AM) Heh, not even trying here. Wasn't trying for the whole classroom thing either. :p Here, have some drama,
OH NOES! Goodyear retiring its fabled blimps
@  AdamB5000 : (28 August 2015 - 11:44 AM) Great shoutbox drama, guys. A+
@  JTM : (28 August 2015 - 11:20 AM) Yeah, I never taught Physics before, so whatever.
@  spacemunky : (28 August 2015 - 11:13 AM) Greenie :wavey:
@  Heimdall : (28 August 2015 - 06:14 AM) Hi Greenie.
@  Heimdall : (28 August 2015 - 06:12 AM) JTM, ya missed my point completely, B you kind of get it, just take it further, the nosepiece had pretty much zero motion compared to the cars driving thru. Not about to rehash it more in the shoutbox.
@  GreenBeret : (28 August 2015 - 04:29 AM) Hello all you mo-fo's. Been a while.
@  Brandynr : (28 August 2015 - 03:03 AM) JTM, I think that an object hitting another object moving in the same direction, only slower, will actually be a lighter impact than hitting a stationary object. The 2 objects colliding would have to be moving in opposite directions for the forces to be greater.
@  JTM : (28 August 2015 - 02:55 AM) It does matter the direction it was moving because it changes the amount of force on the object. It also matters if the object is stationary or moving because a moving object hitting another moving object will create greater force than a moving object hitting a stationary object. Just because one object is moving faster than another object doesn't make it stationary.
@  Heimdall : (27 August 2015 - 11:46 PM) Though the roadies this weekend could be really good :)
@  Heimdall : (27 August 2015 - 12:45 PM) Agreed, ML. Better than all the clone ovals.
@  Minted Llama : (27 August 2015 - 06:59 AM) Should be 4 races a year at Darlington. And if the fans in SC are too poor to go they should mobilize the entire track and drive it around the country to places that can afford a ticket.
@  minted_cow : (27 August 2015 - 04:16 AM) since when does Darlington only have 1 race a year? shows how much I pay attention to nascar these days
@  LeoAmes : (27 August 2015 - 02:52 AM) I wasn't even replying to you, Heimdall. I was responding to Spam with those last two responses. As for the rest of your shout, grow up.
@  spacemunky : (27 August 2015 - 01:34 AM) People died today guys. Show some respect.
@  Heimdall : (27 August 2015 - 01:08 AM) Whatever, I was replying to JTM, duh. Barf up some more stupid walls of text.
@  LeoAmes : (27 August 2015 - 12:44 AM) My earlier post is below yours in case you missed it, but the time stamp kept insisting it was posted before your shout. Not sure why this thing isn't working right tonight, but If you can stop acting like a trapped animal for a moment like you like to do sometimes when someone disagrees, here's an interesting article on this topic.

http://www.racer.com...its-will-happen

Isn't it best protecting the driver that matters? I don't see the significance how it's done, as long as it's done in the best manner available within reason. If they can develop a system to deflect debris yet still keep the cockpit open, why not? Ignore the open cockpit tradition and think twice about the practical concerns of a fully enclosed bubble canopy on an IndyCar. You're not an idiot or ignorant, so surely if you're less quick to dismiss it this time around, you could start to envision scenarios where a full enclosure could cause harm.
@  spamtastic : (27 August 2015 - 12:41 AM) I'm not sure what difference a canopy would have made on the Hinchcliffe accident. You are just making up bullshit because you like the stupid notion that it's somehow more pure. Well have fun killing people for something that makes not a bit of damn sense. I'm not usually one for safety, but in this case it's fucking stupid not too.
@  LeoAmes : (27 August 2015 - 12:31 AM) Let's see if this posts correctly at the top, this time. I'm not making up anything. Both IndyCar and an expert in the form of Derrick Walker, and FIA and an expert with the name of Charlie Whiting, an individual that surely knows what he's talking about, have said this since Sunday. I'm just repeating it.

I'm an open cockpit, open wheel, racefan and appreciate the tradition that represents. But I hardly want a man to die on the track and leave behind another wife and young kids. But again, it's quite obvious that completely enclosing a driver with a bubble raises obvious concerns.

If there's a better way to do this, and it sounds like there quite possibly is with the research going on that they've alluded to, why do you think you know better?
@  Heimdall : (27 August 2015 - 12:31 AM) Something better than the whatif wagon..

http://shop.ims.com/.../justin-wilson/ All proceeds go to the kids fund.
@  LeoAmes : (27 August 2015 - 12:30 AM) .
@  LeoAmes : (27 August 2015 - 12:29 AM) .
@  LeoAmes : (27 August 2015 - 12:24 AM) .
@  LeoAmes : (26 August 2015 - 11:47 PM) A bubble isn't better for safety, as IndyCar and FIA have been quite clear about. How would it have helped James Hinchcliffe at Indy, for instance? From the reports from the medical team, it's not hard to imagine how messing around with opening a canopy might've led to his demise instead of the ending we happily got instead.

For a safety innovation to be worthwhile, it has to actually increase overall safety, not trade around risks. A driver is just as dead if they bleed to death in the cockpit since the safety responders were impeded from accessing him and extracting him to attend to him as quickly as possible, as if he's hit by flying carbon fibre in the helmet.

Both sanctioning groups have considered this recently, and have decided that the risks outweigh the benefits. They're instead focusing on deflecting the debris, but keeping the top open where there's virtually no risk of something falling straight down and hitting the driver on the top of his helmet in a fast moving vehicle, in order so that the driver can still easily exit the vehicle.
@  Minted Llama : (26 August 2015 - 07:51 PM) only #blacklivesmatter so move along, nothing to see here except white privilege.
@  Heimdall : (26 August 2015 - 06:28 PM) https://www.facebook...965685470121385
@  Heimdall : (26 August 2015 - 06:23 PM) It gets worse. It was a disgruntled coworker, and, both who were killed had relationships with others at the station, including she had just moved in with one of the anchors. Horrible. :(
@  spacemunky : (26 August 2015 - 04:24 PM) Jesus.
@  Rook : (26 August 2015 - 04:08 PM) Whenever I travel to Roanoke I watch that news channel :rip:
@  Rook : (26 August 2015 - 04:06 PM) Holy shit!!! https://twitter.com/...563622509068288
@  nm2588 : (26 August 2015 - 12:59 PM) Happy Women's Equality Day and to celebrate, I say we get rid of Women's suffrage! Women shouldn't have to suffer anymore!
@  Heimdall : (26 August 2015 - 11:57 AM) Actually, it doesn't matter if it was moving up, down or sideways. Relative to the speeds of the cars, it was more or less stationary when he hit it. A partial would probably have deflected it. But a full bubble might be better for safety.
@  Rook : (26 August 2015 - 11:26 AM) http://www.roadandtr...losed-cockpits/
@  spacemunky : (26 August 2015 - 11:13 AM) Do we still need actual drivers inside the car? Seems a bit outdated.
@  rhamm : (26 August 2015 - 09:07 AM) They need mini patriot missile batteries that detect incoming objects and shoot them out of the sky.
@  spamtastic : (26 August 2015 - 08:34 AM) the canopies on the top fuels look awesome.
@  Minted Llama : (26 August 2015 - 06:08 AM) how about the nose cone break into a million pieces like it used to?
@  JTM : (26 August 2015 - 04:02 AM) Top Fuel drags use the canopy. A bigger windshield or half canopy wouldn't have done much since the nose cone fell down from the sky and hit him.
@  LeoAmes : (25 August 2015 - 10:25 PM) Formula One decided against canopies, too. They feel like it creates more issues than it solves, so they're exploring other methods to deflect debris.
@  spamtastic : (25 August 2015 - 07:42 PM) Seems to work fine for those speed boats, and since the engine is in the rear that should help with fire safety. I saw a thing where they talked about a big windshield, I guess that would work as well.
@  nm2588 : (25 August 2015 - 02:06 PM) :rip:
@  Rook : (25 August 2015 - 10:41 AM) Some are concerned that a canopy could trap a driver in the car
@  spamtastic : (25 August 2015 - 06:43 AM) Canopy is the smart thing to do here. Safer and more aerodynamic. There is no reason why the driver needs to be exposed, it does nothing for the racing.
@  spacemunky : (25 August 2015 - 04:18 AM) :rip:
@  Minted Llama : (25 August 2015 - 03:03 AM) :(

@  Rook : (25 August 2015 - 01:30 AM) :rip:
@  minted_cow : (25 August 2015 - 01:18 AM) RIP Justin Wilson :(
@  minted_cow : (24 August 2015 - 10:20 PM) that could lead to extreme crowd surfing, maybe start a new fad
@  rhamm : (24 August 2015 - 12:18 PM) They need a canopy like on a fighter jet and zero zero ejection seats. That would be pretty entertaining unless the ejection seat landed in the crowd.
@  Minted Llama : (24 August 2015 - 02:13 AM) Something else that needs to be changed... they must be waiting for someone to die first.
@  Heimdall : (24 August 2015 - 02:07 AM) I'd think they would have said if it was. :(
@  GoVols019 : (24 August 2015 - 01:17 AM) Wonder if it's medically induced?
@  phathead : (24 August 2015 - 01:14 AM) Listed in coma and in critical conditoin
@  phathead : (24 August 2015 - 12:09 AM) RHR said last he heard he was unconscious and unresponsive
@  LeoAmes : (23 August 2015 - 10:59 PM) They didn't red flag stuff, so that's a good sign that it's hopefully not too bad.
@  spacemunky : (23 August 2015 - 10:59 PM) :(
@  phathead : (23 August 2015 - 10:30 PM) Really hoping Justin Wilson is okay. Doesn't look good so far.
@  GoVols019 : (23 August 2015 - 05:37 AM) The racing is better now...the fighting is worse.
@  LeoAmes : (23 August 2015 - 05:16 AM) In the old, old days when it was asphalt, they often ran up high, too.
@  minted_cow : (23 August 2015 - 01:37 AM) I like the high line racing, but I miss the old days when it was a single low line track.
@  Heimdall : (23 August 2015 - 12:10 AM) That was one of the weirdest invocations I've heard in a loong time.
@  rwheele : (22 August 2015 - 09:47 PM) and his diamond rings and brand new caddy.
@  Minted Llama : (22 August 2015 - 08:52 PM) There goes MW's Sugar Daddy.
@  GoVols019 : (22 August 2015 - 04:45 AM) Rob Kauffman, an amateur racer who is a highly successful businessman, said Friday he had enough of pouring his own money into Michael Waltrip Racing without seeing results and announced that MWR would cease operations after this season
@  LeoAmes : (19 August 2015 - 10:57 PM) I thought they were just going part time in 2016?
@  Minted Llama : (19 August 2015 - 09:04 PM) That's for kicking David Reutimann to the curb.
@  GoVols019 : (19 August 2015 - 05:58 PM) Too bad shutting the team down doesn't include keeping both of the Waltrips off my fucking TV.
@  GoVols019 : (19 August 2015 - 05:57 PM) :rip: MWR
@  phathead : (19 August 2015 - 02:14 PM) Mikey is shutting his team down after this year. It's funny because they did it to themselves.
@  spacemunky : (19 August 2015 - 11:37 AM) I thought he probably would be, for life.
@  GoVols019 : (19 August 2015 - 06:15 AM) I wonder if Davey is still in the Navy?
@  Heimdall : (12 August 2015 - 06:39 PM) Wow. Didn't know he was pushing 90. He's looking every second of it and more. :wheelchair:
@  rwheele : (12 August 2015 - 12:08 PM) He's 89 so it's not gonna sneak up on me.
@  Heimdall : (12 August 2015 - 01:49 AM) Honestly won't be surprised if It's Don Rickles. He was on Tonight Show last week, yeah, looked that bad. :(
@  rwheele : (12 August 2015 - 01:08 AM) Great, another website I have to check everyday
@  snuggs28 : (11 August 2015 - 02:44 AM) http://www.abevigoda.com/
@  Minted Llama : (11 August 2015 - 12:49 AM) that was quick.
@  SnakeBT6 : (11 August 2015 - 12:40 AM) RIP Buddy Baker
@  spacemunky : (10 August 2015 - 04:11 PM) Abe Vigoda?
@  Rook : (10 August 2015 - 03:48 PM) Uh oh......who's gonna be the third one?
@  rwheele : (10 August 2015 - 11:58 AM) RIP Buddy Baker
@  LeoAmes : (10 August 2015 - 11:41 AM) Buddy Baker :(
@  SnakeBT6 : (10 August 2015 - 12:30 AM) Yeah that's too bad..RIP
@  rwheele : (09 August 2015 - 09:47 PM) RIP
@  spacemunky : (09 August 2015 - 08:19 PM) :rip: Frank Gifford
@  !-shadow... : (09 August 2015 - 12:05 PM) Hah yeah. I was tired. One of our dudes hit a neon and bent the subframe. Engines about 6 inches right of where it should be. Fun while it lasted.
@  Minted Llama : (09 August 2015 - 06:01 AM) terminal contact? Wtf does that mean? Wrecked?
@  !-shadow... : (09 August 2015 - 05:24 AM) We're done. Terminal contact, at least for tonight.
@  SnakeBT6 : (09 August 2015 - 04:33 AM) In a BMW no less..nice. Saw you guys were back in 31st.

WTG Dave!

Unzip it into your \\iRacing\sound\spcc folder.

It will create a "JJ" folder, and everything will be extracted to the right places within. When extracting, make sure you have the option ticked to use folder names. Otherwise, everything might get dumped into the \\spcc root folder.

When all is well, the following folders will have been created;
\\iRacing\sound\spcc\jj
\\iRacing\sound\spcc\jj\fuel
\\iRacing\sound\spcc\jj\paceorder

After that, open your app.ini file, located in \\My Documents\iRacing. Under the [SPCC] tag, change the "voicepack=" line to read, "voicepack=JJ"

TY. I can't say that I'm overly happy with it thus far, though. Disjointed comes to mind.
